Chapter 20 - The Collapse of the Vance EmpireWithin forty-eight hours, the consequences of our raid rippled through the global black market like a seismic shockwave.

In luxury penthouses across Geneva, Miami, and Tokyo, high-ranking syndicate bosses who had relied on the Vance family's biotech sutures suddenly found their post-operative implants dissolving, causing massive, untraceable medical failures. Hospitals tied to Vance shell companies faced sudden federal investigations as tainted medical shipments triggered emergency health alerts.

We sat in the Falcone estate library, watching the financial news unfold on the massive wall-mounted screen.

“...Federal authorities have raided Vance Global Holdings following an anonymous tip detailing decades of illegal synthetic biotech manufacturing and offshore money laundering. CEO Evelyn Vance and her brother Silas are currently fugitives...”

I turned away from the screen, letting out a long, steady breath. The tension that had lived in my shoulders for months finally began to melt away.

Gabriel walked over, handing me a crystal glass filled with sparkling water. He looked tired, but his eyes burned with an unyielding intensity.

"They're finished," Gabriel said quietly. "Their accounts are frozen, their assets seized, and every cartel on the eastern seaboard has put a bounty on their heads for selling them defective product."

"They deserved it," I said, taking a sip from the glass. "They built an empire on lies and poison."

Gabriel stepped closer, his fingers gently tracing the edge of my jawline. "And you built something better out of the wreckage. You didn't just save my life, Maya. You saved an entire city from people who thought they were untouchable."

I looked up into his dark, magnetic eyes, feeling the electric pull that had grown stronger with every battle we fought together.

"What happens now, Gabriel?" I asked softly.

May you like

Gabriel smiled, a warm, genuine expression that softened the hard lines of New York's most feared mafia boss.

"Now," he murmured, pulling me gently against his chest, "we run the city. Together."
