Chapter 29 - Reign of the CleanersTwo years later.

The Manhattan skyline glittered beneath a magnificent canopy of stars. From the wraparound glass balcony of our penthouse suite, the city looked like an infinite sea of glowing diamonds.

The Falcone syndicate was no longer just a criminal empire; it was a legitimate global shipping and financial conglomerate, untouchable by law enforcement and feared by rivals across three continents.

I stood on the balcony, draped in an emerald silk evening gown, looking out over the empire we had built together.

Footsteps approached softly from behind. Strong arms wrapped around my waist, and a warm chin rested gently on my shoulder.

"Penny for your thoughts, Mrs. Falcone," Gabriel murmured against my ear, the title rolling off his tongue with deep, possessive pride.

I smiled, leaning back into his embrace as I rested my hand over his.

"I was just thinking about how far we've come," I said softly. "From scrubbing factory floors and cleaning up blood to ruling the entire East Coast."

Gabriel turned me around so I was facing him. His dark eyes burned with the same fierce intensity that had captured my heart the night I pulled those black stitches from his shoulder.

"You never just cleaned up blood, Maya," Gabriel whispered, pressing his forehead gently against mine. "You rewrote the entire game."

I smiled up at him, knowing that whatever came next—whatever shadows tried to creep into our world—we were ready.

Because we knew how to spot the bad threads before they even began to fray.
