Chapter 13 - The Secret Beneficiary
The boardroom erupted into chaos. Two corporate security guards, acting on Lorenzo’s direct orders, stepped forward and slapped heavy steel zip-ties around Harrison Vance’s wrists before he could even reach the exit doors.
As Harrison was dragged out screaming empty threats of lawsuits and retaliation, the remaining board members sat frozen in sheer terror, staring down at their polished conference folders as if waiting for their own execution notices.
Lorenzo stood up, his presence dominating the entire room.
"The restructuring of Moretti Global begins today," Lorenzo announced, his voice echoing authoritatively off the glass walls. "And the first order of business is redefining our corporate charter. Fifty percent of all enterprise dividends will be permanently redirected into a newly formed trust: The Lily Foundation, dedicated to maternal health, survivor advocacy, and family protection."
A respectful, dead-silent compliance swept across the room. No one dared to object. No one dared to question. In less than an hour, Lorenzo had not only defended his empire; he had completely reinvented its soul.
As we walked out of the boardroom and back into the private penthouse elevator, I let out a long breath I didn't realize I’d been holding.
"You handled them like a true king," I murmured, leaning back against the cool wooden paneling of the elevator.
Lorenzo turned toward me, his intense, predatory gaze softening completely as he stepped closer, gently resting his hand over my protruding stomach.
