Chapter 17 - Federal CavalryA sleek black federal interceptor chopper dropped low over the Wellington Street trees, kicking up a massive gust of wind as heavily armed federal tactical agents fast-roped onto the lawn.

"Federal Air Marshals! Drop your weapons!" Agent Miller’s voice boomed through the tactical bullhorn.

Caught between the flipped van and the federal perimeter, the remaining three mercenaries dropped their rifles, raising their hands in surrender as federal agents swarmed them, slapping steel cuffs onto their wrists.

Samuel walked out onto the front porch, brushing dust off his shoulders as Marcus stepped out of the lead tactical vehicle, grinning broadly.

"Sorry we're late, boss," Marcus laughed, walking up the steps. "Local cell towers were jammed, so we had to reroute our encryption through the Chicago satellite hub."

"You timed it perfectly," Samuel breathed out a sigh of relief, looking back as Clara opened the front door, pulling Emma and Lily out into the fresh air, hugging them tightly.
