Chapter 15 - THE UNTHINKABLE TWIST“The world thought the war was over... until they looked at the sky.”Three days after the total destruction of Sector Zero, the global news media broke the story:

WORLD NEWS ALERT: “Military Sector Zero completely wiped off the map. Government reports claim a catastrophic chemical explosion killed all personnel. The public is advised to avoid the surrounding borders.”

In the safety of a high-tech underground war room thousands of miles away in Washington D.C., the Supreme Military Council watched satellite imagery of the ruined site.

“The biological threat has been contained inside Sector Zero,” the Chief of Staff announced proudly to the President. “Our drone footage shows no living activity within the perimeter. The serpents have gone back underground. We won.”

The President nodded in relief, signing the order to close the file forever.

Suddenly, every screen in the White House war room flickered, going dark.

A high-pitched, subsonic signal played through every speaker in the building. Then, the screens flashed back to life—not showing Sector Zero, but showing live broadcast feeds from major capital cities around the world: Tokyo, London, Paris, New York, Rio de Janeiro.

In every city, water mains were bursting. Sewers were exploding. Concrete highways were fracturing open.

Out of the ground, millions upon millions of black and silver cobras were emerging into the crowded streets, surrounding civilian cars, government buildings, and military bases—not attacking, but standing at attention, forming a vast, global perimeter.

On the main central monitor in the war room, a single live video feed appeared.

It showed Alex, sitting on a majestic throne built from ancient stone and serpent bones inside the deepest cavern beneath Outpost 4. Beside him sat a newborn baby cobra—a direct descendant of the Mother Cobra—coiled peacefully around his wrist.

Alex looked directly into the camera, a calm, eerie smile spreading across his face.

“You thought Sector Zero was a cage to keep me inside,” Alex said, his voice broadcasting simultaneously on every television, smartphone, and radio screen on Earth.

“You were wrong. Sector Zero was the only place on Earth where I was keeping them... from protecting me.”

Alex gently stroked the newborn cobra, looking up with eyes that burned brighter than the sun.
