The heavy blast door of the bunker slammed shut, locking Alex inside. A pair of slow, rhythmic footsteps echoed down the metallic hallway.

From the darkness stepped a man wearing full tactical armor and an anti-venom respirator mask. He removed his helmet, revealing a scarred face that Alex recognized instantly.

It was Commander Vance.

“Very perceptive, Private Alex,” Vance said, his voice cold and echoing through the chamber. “You were always a soft-hearted fool. Feeding stray animals like a lonely child. You were the perfect dummy subject.”

“You killed forty men!” Alex screamed, his knuckles turning white as he gripped an iron pipe. “You let those monsters slaughter your own squad!”
