Chapter 6 - The Confession in Room 412Upstairs in Room 412, Bertrand Callaway was pacing his hospital room, clutching an IV pole like a weapon. Dominic sat huddled in the corner, staring at the door in sheer terror.

When the door unlocked, Dominic flinched violently.
It wasn't a mercenary. It was Marin Kessler.
She walked in calmly, her expression unchanged, carrying a fresh tray of medical supplies. She didn't look like a woman who had just dismantled three armed assassins downstairs.
Bertrand dropped the IV pole, falling to his knees beside the hospital bed. His pride, his wealth, his arrogance—all of it shattered into dust.
“Please,” Bertrand choked out, tears streaming down his weathered cheeks. “Please, Marin. I know why you’re here. The property in Lakehaven... the money I took... I’ll sign it all over. Every penny. Just spare my son. Dominic had nothing to do with it.”
Dominic stared at his father in shock. “Dad? What are you talking about? What is he—what is she talking about?”
“Shut up, Dominic!” Bertrand sobbed, pressing his forehead against the cold hospital floor. “You don't know who she is! She isn't just a nurse! She is the Head of the Tribunal of the Broken Crown!”
Marin stopped walking. She set the tray down on the bedside table and looked down at the weeping real estate mogul.
“You’re right, Bertrand,” Marin said, her voice cutting through the room like a razor blade. “Twenty-two years ago, you betrayed the Syndicate. You stole forty million dollars, bought your freedom by framing innocent men, and built an empire on the blood of families in this very city.”
“I was weak!” Bertrand cried. “I wanted a safe life!”
“Safety is a luxury reserved for those who don’t build their houses on stolen graves,” Marin replied coldly.
Dominic sprang to his feet, rage briefly overcoming his terror. “You can’t touch him! This is America! You can’t just murder people in a hospital!”
Marin turned her pale gray eyes toward Dominic.
“Murder?” She let out a quiet, chilling laugh. “Dominic, your father’s crimes are matters of public record now. Look at your phone.”

Dominic’s phone buzzed violently in his pocket. He pulled it out with a shaking hand.
