"I managed to escape through the utility drainage tunnels before the main charge blew. But I was severely injured, hiding in safe houses across Eastern Europe while healing."

Harrison listened intently, his jaw clenched so tight a muscle ticked in his cheek. "And Elena? How did she get involved with the syndicate?"

"Elena was blackmailed," David said bitterly. "They threatened to take the twins away from her if she didn't act as a sleeper asset inside the family. She wasn't the mastermind; she was just a pawn controlled by Richard's syndicate."
