Chapter 20 - A New Dawn for the VancesA week later, the Napa Valley estate was restored to its pristine, peaceful beauty. The bullet marks on the garden wall had been repaired, the vineyards were quiet, and the scent of blooming jasmine filled the warm afternoon air.

On the wide wooden front porch, David sat in his rocking chair, watching Owen and Lily chase each other across the green lawn while their golden retriever puppy bounded joyfully behind them.

Harrison walked out of the house carrying a tray with four glasses of fresh lemonade, handing one to David and setting the others on the small wooden table.

"Foundations are fully funded," Harrison said, sitting down in the adjacent chair. "The children's shelter in San Francisco officially opens next month."

David took a sip of his lemonade, smiling warmly as he watched his children laugh. "You know, for years I thought being a Vance meant inheriting a war."

"It did," Harrison agreed quietly, looking out over the sprawling valley. "But I think we finally managed to rewrite the terms."

Owen ran up the porch steps, clutching his brown teddy bear tightly, and climbed right onto David's lap. Lily followed closely behind, leaning against Harrison's knee.

The sun dipped low behind the western hills, painting the sky in brilliant shades of gold, amber, and violet. For the Vance brothers, the dark storms of the past were finally gone—leaving behind a future built on absolute safety, unbreakable loyalty, and a love that nothing in the world could ever break.
