Chapter 10 - Epilogue — The View from the Sixty-Fifth FloorTwo years to the day after the incident at Bellamy House, the city of Chicago was blanketed in a pristine layer of fresh winter snow.

From the floor-to-ceiling windows of the executive penthouse on the sixty-fifth floor of the Willis Tower, the city lights twinkled like a sea of diamonds against the dark winter sky.
Marin stood by the glass, wearing a sleek emerald-green silk dress, holding a cup of hot chamomile tea.
Behind her, footsteps approached softly across the imported Turkish rug. Strong arms wrapped around her waist, and Callum rested his chin gently on her shoulder, looking out at the glittering skyline with her.
"Mother called," Callum murmured, resting his cheek against hers. "She said she’s coming into town next weekend for the new gallery opening."
"She loves your mother," Marin smiled, leaning back into his embrace. "They're practically best friends now. Who would have thought Celeste Vale and Margaret Ashford would bond over antique sewing machines?"
Callum chuckled, tightening his grip around her. "My mother always appreciated people who built things with their own hands rather than marrying into them."
Marin turned slightly within his arms, looking up into his eyes. The shadows of the past—the hospital bills, the dark kitchen hallways, the burning pain of that afternoon at Bellamy House—felt like a lifetime ago.
"Do you ever think about what would have happened if you hadn't walked through those doors twenty minutes early that day?" Marin asked softly.
Callum looked down at her, his gaze intense, steady, and filled with a warmth that only she ever got to see.
"I don't need to think about it," he whispered, pressing a soft kiss to her temple. "Because the moment I saw you standing on that marble floor, I knew my life was about to change forever."

He reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair away from her cheek—right where the scar had vanished without a trace, leaving behind only a woman who had walked through the fire and emerged stronger, brighter, and more powerful than ever before.
Outside, the snow fell silently over Chicago, blanketing the city in white, while inside, two lives anchored by resilience, justice, and an unexpected love burned brighter than the coldest winter night.
