Chapter 5 - The Return of the Rightful Heir"Julian!" Sarah cried out, scrambling off the sofa and rushing into his arms.
Julian caught her tightly, burying his face in her hair as his strong arms wrapped securely around her and the baby bump. For a moment, the tension that had gripped the household melted into pure, desperate relief.
"I'm so sorry, Sarah," Julian whispered fiercely, kissing the top of her head. "My phone was intercepted. My security detail was paid off. I was locked out of my own accounts in Switzerland. If Arthur hadn't managed to send that encrypted emergency ping through the estate's legacy line..." He trailed off, his jaw clenching as a cold, terrifying fury flashed in his eyes.
Julian pulled back, looking at Arthur, who gave a respectful, slight nod.
"You intercepted the communication block, didn't you, old friend?" Julian asked.
"The late master foresaw this day, sir," Arthur replied evenly, stepping forward and placing the leather ledger onto the mahogany table. "Mr. Vance senior amended the family charter twenty-five years ago. A clause was inserted specifically for cases of treason, financial sabotage, or attempted murder against direct heirs."
Julian opened the ledger, running a hand over the embossed family crest. "And what does the charter dictate?"
"Total and immediate forfeiture of all assets, titles, and holdings," Arthur stated. "Eleanor Vance is legally stripped of every penny, every property, and every share in Vance Global. Furthermore, because the attempt was made on an unborn heir, the corporate board has already convened an emergency vote. Her shares have been frozen and transferred directly to you, sir—and by extension, to Mrs. Sarah Vance."
