Chapter 11 - The Inheritance AuditThe morning sun cast long, golden beams across the expansive mahogany desk in the master study. Piles of audited documents, tax returns, and offshore asset logs towered on either side of the laptop screen, where Julian was reviewing the final closure of Eleanor’s corporate loopholes.

Sarah sat across from him, cradling their newborn son, Leo, whose soft breathing filled the quiet room.
"Every single shell company in the Caymans has been dissolved," Julian said, leaning back in his leather chair with a satisfied exhale. "The federal prosecutors used our documentation to lock down every asset Eleanor tried to stash away. She won't even be able to afford a decent commissary snack in prison, let alone a high-priced defense attorney."
"Good," Sarah replied softly, brushing a stray curl from Leo’s tiny forehead. "She deserves every day of that cell. But... do you think she’ll ever stop trying to strike back from the inside?"
Before Julian could answer, the study door clicked open, and Arthur stepped inside carrying a silver tray with a steaming cup of tea and a sealed, heavy cream envelope.
"Pardon the interruption, sir, Madam," Arthur said with his characteristic composure. "This just arrived via specialized courier from the federal penitentiary. It bears the official seal of the warden's office, not Mrs. Vance's personal handwriting."
Julian’s eyes narrowed. He picked up a letter opener and sliced open the flap. Inside was a single printed document stamped with an official court seal—and a handwritten note scrawled across the bottom margin.
To Julian and Sarah, You think you’ve stripped me of everything. But you missed the ultimate piece of the puzzle. The true master deed to the ancestral Vance estate in the Scottish Highlands was never in my name—nor your father's. Check the municipal registry of Edinburgh. — Eleanor

Julian read the note twice, his expression shifting from suspicion to deep confusion. "The Scottish estate? That property was supposed to have been sold off during the grand-paternal bankruptcy back in the nineties."
"Not sold off, sir," Arthur corrected quietly, stepping closer. His eyes held a sudden, guarded sharpness. "Concealed. The late master maintained that estate as a private sanctuary. But more importantly, the charter tied to that land holds the original controlling interest in Vance Global's foundational patents."
