Chapter 15 - The Truth UnmaskedJulian stared at his mother, a whirlwind of shock, betrayal, and long-buried grief crashing over him.

"Eleanor... Eleanor told me you died of a fever in Europe," Julian said, his voice cracking. "She showed me the death certificate. She showed my father the memorial plaques."
Helena stood up slowly, leaning heavily on a carved oak cane as she stepped out from behind the desk.
"Eleanor was a master of forgery long before she married into this family," Helena said bitterly, her eyes shifting to Sarah and the baby wrapped against her chest. "She wanted my husband, she wanted my home, and most importantly, she wanted complete control over the Vance Global lineage. When I discovered she was quietly draining our subsidiary accounts into private offshore funds, she had me abducted, drugged, and smuggled out of the country under a false identity, locking me away in a secluded medical facility in the Scottish Highlands."
"How did you escape?" Arthur asked, stepping forward, his eyes sharp and analytical. "That facility was heavily guarded by private security."
"Eleanor’s grip has been slipping ever since she was arrested," Helena replied with a grim smile. "The guards abandoned their posts two weeks ago when their paychecks bounced from the frozen accounts. I walked out the front door yesterday morning and made my way back to Blackwood Manor."
Julian crossed the room in two strides and pulled his mother into a tight, desperate embrace. For the first time in his life, the missing piece of his soul clicked back into place.

"You're safe now, Mother," Julian vowed fiercely against her shoulder. "Eleanor will never hurt you again. She’s facing life behind bars."
"Prison is too good for her," Helena whispered, pulling back with a fierce glint in her eyes. "Especially when you realize what she hid inside the foundation of this very house."
