Chapter 7 - The Unravelling of the SyndicateWithin two hours, the corporate housecleaning was nothing short of historic.

Marcus Thorne and three other corrupt board members were escorted out of the Vance Global tower by federal agents, their briefcasts clutched tightly in sweaty palms. The media circus outside the building was deafening, flashes blinding every window as reporters realized the mighty Vance empire was experiencing a violent, purging revolution.

Back in the executive suite, Sarah sat comfortably in the CEO’s leather chair, sipping warm lemon water while reviewing the restructuring documents.

"It’s incredible," Sarah murmured, looking at the spreadsheet of recovered assets. "Eleanor spent twenty years hiding these accounts behind dummy corporations."

"She was greedy, but she was sloppy," Julian said, standing behind her chair and resting his hands gently on her shoulders. "She relied on intimidation because she never expected anyone to fight back. She forgot that a throne built on fear collapses the moment someone stops being afraid."

The office door chimed softly, and Arthur stepped inside, holding a silver tray with a secure envelope.

"Sir, Madam," Arthur said formally. "A courier just delivered this from the county detention center. It's from Eleanor Vance."

Julian raised an eyebrow, taking the heavy parchment envelope. He slit the top with a letter opener and pulled out a single sheet of stationery. Scrawled across it in furious, shaky handwriting were the words:

You think you’ve won, Julian? Check the secondary trust. I left a parting gift that will burn this company to the ground before the baby is even born.

Julian’s eyes narrowed. He handed the note to Arthur.

Arthur scanned it, his expression hardening. "A secondary trust, sir? According to the master charter, there are no secondary trusts registered under the main family holdings."

"Unless..." Julian’s breath caught in his throat as a terrifying realization hit him. "Unless she formed it using the subsidiary holdings in the Cayman Islands—using my father’s forged signature before he passed away."
