Chapter 17 - The Bloodline Bombshell

The courtroom was dead silent as the prosecutor loaded the digital files onto the large screens mounted throughout the room.
"Your Honor," the prosecutor continued, "the defense claims that Victor Montgomery holds legitimate corporate proxy rights under the original family trust charter, which dictates that assets default to the direct bloodline of Arthur Montgomery. However, during the forensic analysis of Arthur's exhumed remains, a secondary court-ordered DNA match was executed."
I watched Victor’s face closely. For the first time, a flash of genuine terror crossed his eyes.
"What did the DNA panel reveal, Prosecutor?" the judge asked.
"The DNA panel confirms that Julian Montgomery is not the biological son of Arthur Montgomery," the prosecutor announced loudly.
The courtroom erupted into total chaos. Reporters scrambled in the gallery; reporters shouted from the back rows. The judge slammed his gavel repeatedly. "Order! Order in this court!"
Evelyn went dead white, clutching her chest as if she had been struck by lightning.
"The test reveals," the prosecutor shouted above the noise, "that Julian Montgomery’s biological father... is Victor Montgomery!"
Julian froze on the witness stand, his mouth opening in absolute shock as he looked from Evelyn to Victor. "What... what did you say?"
"Thirty years ago," the prosecutor revealed, displaying private hotel logs and encrypted emails from Zurich, "Evelyn Montgomery and Victor Montgomery engaged in an ongoing affair. They passed Julian off as Arthur's son to secure Arthur's massive fortune. The entire foundation of Victor’s legal claim to the trust is a fraud built on thirty years of paternity deception!"

Julian stared at Victor, his voice breaking into a hysterical scream. "You're my father?! You let me rot in prison for six months... and you're my father?!"
Victor didn't look at Julian. He covered his face with his hands as federal agents stepped up behind his chair.
