Chapter 3 - Unraveling the WebBy evening, Sarah’s living room looked like a war room. Empty takeout containers littered the coffee table, and printouts of bank statements, phone bills, and social media profiles were spread across the rug. Sarah had gone into full protective-sister mode, digging up every digital footprint Caleb had tried to cover up.

"It gets worse, Em," Sarah said grimly, tapping a finger on a printed screenshot of an Instagram post from three months ago. "Look at the geotag on this photo Rachel posted. A luxury boutique hotel in downtown Savannah. Do you remember where Caleb told you he was that weekend?"

Emily stared at the screen, her heart dropping into her stomach. "He said he went to a corporate leadership seminar in Chicago. He even showed me a fake itinerary."

"Chicago," Sarah scoffed bitterly. "Right. And look at this." Sarah pulled up a Venmo transaction history she had accessed from the laptop Caleb had left unlocked on their home office desk. "He’s been splitting rent on a small downtown apartment under a shell LLC for the last eight months. Emily, this wasn't just a random fling. He has been living a complete double life."

Emily felt a cold numbness wash over her. Four years of marriage. Four years of believing she was married to a homebody who hated the water, preferred quiet nights in, and struggled with severe anxiety about traveling. It was all a meticulously crafted illusion designed to give him freedom whenever he wanted it.

"And the best part?" Sarah continued, leaning back on the couch. "The lease on that downtown apartment? It’s signed in both their names. Rachel thinks they’re moving in together permanently next month."

Emily stood up, walking over to the large bay window that looked out over the quiet suburban street. The sun was dipping below the horizon, painting the sky in violent shades of orange and purple. The betrayal burned, but beneath the pain, a fierce, cold anger was taking root. She refused to be the weeping, helpless wife waiting at home while her cheating husband figured out how to clean up his mess.

"He thinks he can just lie his way out of this," Emily said quietly, her reflection staring back at her in the glass with a hardened expression. "He thinks because I was quiet on the boat, I’m going to roll over and let him handle the divorce on his terms."

"What are you going to do?" Sarah asked, her eyes wide with a mix of caution and excitement.

Emily turned around slowly, a dangerous glint in her eye. "Caleb loves secrets so much? Let's give him an audience."
