Chapter 12 - The Boardroom TakeawayTwenty-four hours after stepping off the cruise ship, I walked through the towering glass doors of Davis Global Holdings in downtown Miami.

I wasn't wearing a blood-stained cocktail dress anymore. Instead, I wore a sharp, tailored midnight-blue pantsuit, towering designer heels, and my hair pulled back into a sleek, authoritative bun. The bruised knuckles on my right hand were wrapped neatly in pale silk medical tape—a subtle reminder to anyone in the room of what happened to people who underestimated me.

The executive boardroom was packed. Twelve senior board members—men who had enabled Richard and David’s toxic reign for decades—sat around the massive mahogany table, whispering nervously among themselves.

As I pushed the heavy glass doors open and walked to the head of the table, absolute silence fell over the room.

"Good morning, gentlemen," I said, my voice carrying a cool, razor-sharp authority that instantly commanded the space.

Jonathan Hayes, the senior executive vice president and Richard’s longtime right-hand man, cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. "Look here, Sarah—or whatever you're calling yourself now. You can't just walk in here and take over. This is a multi-billion-dollar corporation, not a military boot camp."

I didn't blink. I placed the manila folder squarely in the center of the mahogany table and leaned forward, resting my palms on the surface.

"Jonathan," I said softly, locking eyes with him until he shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "Richard and David are currently sitting in federal holding cells facing thirty counts of racketeering, assault, and maritime crimes. Your name is on three of their offshore shell accounts. Would you like to discuss corporate law with me, or would you prefer to pack your desk into a cardboard box right now?"

Jonathan turned pale. Not a single person in the room breathed.

"That's what I thought," I smiled. "Meeting adjourned. Welcome to the new era."
