Chapter 7 - The Phoenix Rises

While Harrison was learning the brutal cost of betrayal on a street corner, Elena was sitting in the corner office of the city's most prestigious financial firm, signing the final paperwork for a complete corporate restructuring.

Sarah slid a clean, newly minted corporate folder across the mahogany desk.

"The liquidation of Miller Consulting is complete," Sarah announced with a satisfied smile. "All remaining intellectual property, client portfolios, and clean assets have been successfully transferred into a newly formed holding entity: Vance Global Ventures. Sole owner and CEO: Elena Vance."

Elena opened the folder, running her hand gently over the crisp, official letterhead. For years, she had hidden behind Harrison’s shadow, letting him take the stage while she quietly did the heavy lifting behind the scenes. She had feared stepping into the spotlight, believing her husband's toxic narrative that she was fragile, dependent, and incapable of standing alone.

London and its bitter betrayal had burned away every last ounce of that self-doubt.

"How is Harrison handling the criminal filings?" Elena asked calmly, not looking up from the documents.

"Not well," Sarah chuckled. "Not only is he facing personal bankruptcy and potential fraud charges for misusing investor trust funds, but his former business partners are lining up to sue him for breach of contract. He’s looking at facing civil court with no legal representation because no firm will touch him without an upfront retainer—which he can't pay."

Elena closed the folder with a soft click. "Good. Let him experience what real hardship looks like. I want every single penny of my trust fund recovered with compound interest."
