Chapter 18 - THE RECKONINGHook: Face-to-face with the man who ordered her family's destruction, Lena must choose between justice and vengeance.

Victor Vance shrank back into his high-backed leather chair, his arrogant veneer completely shattered. He looked at Lena, recognizing the fierce, unyielding hazel eyes that mirrored the very man he had tried to erase twenty-two years ago.

"Helena," Victor whispered, his voice cracking with sudden, desperate fear. "My dear... it was just business. Julian and Dr. Bell... they acted on their own—"

"Save it, Victor," Lena interrupted, her voice dropping to a chilling, absolute register. "I read my mother’s journal. I saw the bank ledgers. You gave the order to burn our home. You stole my identity, my family, and my childhood."

Victor’s eyes darted toward the laptop. With a desperate lurch, he slammed his hand down on the keyboard, trying to force-delete the asset transfer files.

Adrien didn't hesitate. He pulled his Sig Sauer pistol, raised it with casual precision, and fired a single bullet straight through the center of the laptop screen.

CRASH.

Sparks flew in a violent burst of electrical smoke. The screen went pitch black, permanently locking the system and trapping the stolen millions in an unrecoverable digital vault.

Victor slumped back in his chair, gasping for breath, defeated. "You've ruined everything... the syndicate will never stop hunting you, Viscari. They'll send an army—"

"Let them come," Adrien said coldly, walking up behind Lena and resting a firm, protective hand on her shoulder. "New York belongs to us now."

Marco stepped forward with a pair of heavy steel zip-ties, hauling Victor out of his chair with practiced brutality. "Federal agents are waiting at the perimeter gates, Boss. Shall I deliver our guest?"

"Pack him up," Adrien nodded. "And make sure he gets a front-row seat next to his son Julian in isolation cell zero."
