Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Revenge (Conclusion)

I stood up, walking toward the head of the massive mahogany table. I placed my hands flat on the polished wood and looked at the board of directors.

“I don’t want Richard’s job,” I said clearly.

The board looked confused. Marcus raised an eyebrow.

“I want a seat on this board,” I corrected, sliding a heavily redacted folder onto the table. “Because while investigating Richard, I found out he wasn’t acting alone. Three of the men sitting at this very table approved his shell companies in exchange for kickbacks.”

The blood drained from the faces of three senior directors.

“You can either grant me a permanent seat on this board and name me Chief Executive of Operations, or I hand this folder to the FBI agents waiting in the lobby.”

Marcus Vance stared at me for a long, agonizing moment. Then, a massive, terrifying grin spread across the Chairman's face.

“Gentlemen,” Marcus announced. “Meet your new CEO.”
