Chapter 6 - The Prenup Loophole

“I’ll destroy you in the divorce!” Richard screamed, thrashing against the guards. “I’ll take half of everything you own! The house, the cars, everything! You’ll be ruined!”
I reached into my briefcase and pulled out a thick, bound document. Our prenuptial agreement.
“You insisted on this prenup, Richard. You said you wanted to protect your assets from a ‘gold-digger’. Remember?”
“And it’s ironclad!” he barked.
“It is,” I agreed. “Especially Section 4, Paragraph B. The Morality and Criminal Conduct Clause. The one that states if either party is convicted of a felony or terminated with cause for financial malfeasance, they forfeit all claims to marital assets.”

I watched the realization hit him like a freight train. I had drafted that specific clause myself eight years ago, anticipating the day his greed would finally consume him.
