The next morning, an emergency board meeting was called. Richard and Victor Sterling showed up in person, flanked by a legal team of twelve attorneys.
"As owners of thirty-five percent of Halcyon stock," Victor Sterling announced arrogantly, "we are exercising our right to vote out the current management due to gross incompetence and digital security breaches."

Thomas stepped forward, holding a tablet. "I'm sorry, Elena," Thomas said, avoiding my eyes. "The board needs stability. I’ve granted Mr. Sterling’s team administrative access to our servers."
A smile spread across Richard’s face. "Did you really think you could win, Elena? You trusted the wrong person."
