Chapter 17 - The Federal Raid

The heavy glass doors of the boardroom burst open.
This time, it wasn't just local police. A dozen armed Federal Marshals and Securities and Exchange Commission agents flooded the room.
"Victor Sterling, Richard Mercer, and Vice Chairman Hayes," the lead agent announced, pulling out a stack of warrants. "You are under arrest for corporate espionage, money laundering, and conspiracy against the United States."
Richard panicked. He shoved Victor Sterling into the path of an oncoming agent and sprinted toward the executive balcony, vaulting over the railing onto the lower glass terrace.

"Richard, stop!" I yelled, stepping out onto the balcony.
He was trapped forty stories above the pavement, sweating profusely, staring down at the flashing police lights below.
