Chapter 19 - The Twin Paradox

"You ruined everything!" Victoria screamed, scrambling toward me with a concealed blade drawn from her sleeve.
She lunged, the silver blade slashing toward my throat. I blocked her arm with my forearm, the sharp metal slicing through my heavy winter jacket. We wrestled violently on the slick wood, the roar of the sea below threatening to swallow us both.
Victoria gained the upper hand, pinning me down, her fingers pressing into my throat. "You think Hope was the only successful clone?" she hissed into my ear, her eyes wide with madness. "Your egg produced twins, Eleanor! Marcus kept the boy in our Swiss facility! You saved one, but your son belongs to me!"
My eyes went wide. A twin brother.
The shock of her revelation gave me a surge of adrenaline. I smashed my forehead directly into Victoria’s nose. Bone cracked, and she screamed, reeling backward.

I scrambled up, grabbed a loose iron mooring cleat off the dock, and struck Victoria across the shoulder. She stumbled over the edge of the low railing, plunging into the freezing, turbulent ocean currents below.
The heavy surge swallowed her instantly, sweeping her beneath the dark hulls of the docked cargo ships.
