Chapter 8 - The Ultimate Plot Twist

Six months later.
Evelyn sat on the sunlit veranda of a private villa in Switzerland, holding her newborn son in her arms. The baby slept peacefully, wrapped in a soft white blanket.
The news was playing on the tablet beside her: Daniel Vance and Beatrice Vance sentenced to life imprisonment without parole for murder, conspiracy, and financial fraud.
Julian walked onto the veranda, holding two glasses of orange juice. He sat down beside her, smiling warmly.
"Everything is settled," Julian said softly. "The Montgomery estate is completely secured in your son's name. You're free, Evelyn."
"Thank you, Julian," Evelyn smiled, taking a sip of juice. "I couldn't have done this without you."
Julian reached down and gently touched the baby's small hand. "He has your eyes," Julian murmured thoughtfully. "And... my nose."
Evelyn’s smile froze. Her heart skipped a beat.
Julian pulled a small piece of paper from his pocket—a DNA paternity test result—and laid it gently on the table between them.
The test showed a 99.9% match between Julian Vance and the baby.
Julian looked into Evelyn's eyes, his smile turning dark, mysterious, and calculating.

"Did you really think I saved you six months ago out of revenge against Daniel?" Julian whispered, leaning in close. "I knew about your affair with me five years ago before I disappeared, Evelyn. I knew this child was mine all along. Daniel was just a pawn. Beatrice was just a target. The entire Montgomery empire... belongs to our family now."
Evelyn stared at Julian in breathless shock as the gentle mountain wind blew across the terrace, leaving her trapped in a brand-new, gilded cage.
