Chapter 36 - The Race to the Server"Where is the switch located?" Dante asked, standing up so fast his chair scraped loudly against the hardwood floor.

"An abandoned underground data bunker beneath the old municipal docks," Kira answered, standing up with him. "They're uploading the core decryption keys right now. We have less than twelve hours before the countdown hits zero."

Dante didn't hesitate. He pulled out his encrypted satellite phone, barking orders into the receiver. "Marco, assemble the strike team. Full tactical gear. We're hitting the municipal docks in twenty minutes."

He turned back to me, his dark eyes burning with fierce determination. "Mara, you stay here. It's too dangerous—"

"No," I interrupted, stepping right up to him, my voice leaving zero room for argument. "My family name is on those servers. My life, my husband, my children's future are tied to this empire. I am not sitting this one out."

Dante stared at me for a long, agonizing moment. Then, a fierce, helpless smile touched his lips. He reached out, cupping my cheek with his calloused hand.

"I wouldn't expect anything less from a Moretti queen," he murmured.
