Chapter 37 - Descent into the BunkerThe municipal docks at midnight looked like a graveyard of rusted steel and concrete.

Our convoy of three black armored SUVs killed their lights a half-mile away, rolling silently into the abandoned shipping yard. Kira led the way, navigating the maze of underground maintenance tunnels that led directly beneath the old data hub.

"The main firewall is heavily encrypted," Kira whispered as we crouched behind a concrete pillar outside the bunker's heavy blast doors. "There are at least twelve Ouroboros operatives guarding the server room inside. They're professionals, Dante. They won't negotiate."

"We didn't come to negotiate," Dante replied, racking the slide of his customized assault rifle. He turned to me and Kira. "Marco and two men will take the southern flank to cut off their retreat. Kira, you and I hit the primary control console to halt the upload. Mara... you cover the upper catwalks with a sniper rifle."

"Got it," I said, slinging the heavy suppressed sniper rifle over my shoulder and checking my sidearm.
