Chapter 11 - The Phantom Syndicate

The federal indictment of Victor Kane and Elena Moretti made front-page news across the country, branding it the white-collar takedown of the decade. Inside the Moretti estate, however, Adrian Moretti felt no sense of ultimate victory.
Sitting in his subterranean war room late at night, Adrian stared at a decrypted communication log recovered from Kane’s personal server.
"This doesn't make sense," Marcus muttered, adjusting his glasses as holographic data streams cascaded down the wall screens. "Kane and Elena were powerful, but the financial scale of their shadow operations required a clearinghouse far larger than anything Kane Global ever owned."
Adrian leaned forward, his eyes narrowing as he spotted a recurring cryptographic signature at the bottom of the encrypted ledger.

"They weren't working for Kane," Adrian whispered, the blood draining from his face. "Kane and Elena were just pawns. The Veritas Syndicate is still active... and they've been inside our inner circle all along."
