CHAPTER 6 — "THE MAFIA BOSS THOUGHT HE HAD ALREADY WON... UNTIL THE ENTIRE TOWN TURNED AGAINST HIM"

For several seconds...
Nobody moved.
Even Alejandro stared in disbelief.
"I watched you burn," he whispered.
Miguel smiled faintly.
"You watched a house burn."
"Not me."
Years earlier, Miguel had escaped through an old irrigation tunnel beneath the ranch while loyal friends distracted Alejandro's men.
He survived.
But survival came at a terrible price.
To protect Elena...
He let the entire world believe he was dead.
Miguel slowly walked toward his daughter.
They embraced without saying a word.
The crowd quietly wiped away tears.
Even El Diablo lowered his head beside them, gently nudging Miguel's shoulder as though greeting an old friend after a lifetime apart.
Alejandro's expression twisted with hatred.
"Touching."
"But sentiment doesn't change ownership."
Miguel calmly reached into his coat.
The bodyguards instantly raised their rifles.
Instead of a weapon...
He pulled out a rusted brass key.
Several older townspeople gasped.
Gabriel whispered,
"The vault..."
Miguel nodded.
"Twelve years ago, before the fire, I locked everything inside."
"What everything?" Elena asked.
"The truth."
Within an hour, everyone gathered outside the abandoned silver mine marked on the map.
Hidden behind a collapsed stone wall stood an enormous steel door.
The rusted key fit perfectly.
With a loud metallic groan...
The vault opened.
Inside were dozens of waterproof metal boxes.
Land deeds.
Tax records.
Original ownership papers.
Photographs.
Financial ledgers.
And one dusty videotape.
Gabriel quickly connected an old portable player.
The recording flickered to life.
The image was grainy, but unmistakable.
A younger Alejandro stood inside Valle Verde Ranch with several armed men.
His voice echoed through the speakers.
"Burn it."
"If Miguel refuses to sell..."
"We'll take everything."
The room fell silent.
Then came another voice.
"What about his family?"
Alejandro answered without hesitation.
"No witnesses."
The recording ended.
No one spoke.
The evidence was undeniable.
Several of Alejandro's own bodyguards slowly removed the Garza insignia from their jackets.
One by one...
They stepped away from him.
Alejandro looked around in disbelief.
"You work for me!"
One guard answered quietly,
"We thought we worked for a businessman."
"Not a murderer."
Alejandro realized he was standing alone.
Completely alone.
His empire, built through fear, had collapsed in a single afternoon.
But instead of surrendering...
He smiled.
It was the most dangerous smile Elena had ever seen.
"You've all made one mistake."
He pressed a hidden button inside his watch.
A loud explosion echoed from somewhere beyond the hills.
Black smoke rose into the sky.
A terrified ranch worker came running toward them.
"They've set fire to the hospital!"
Elena's heart stopped.
"My mother..."
Gabriel's face turned pale.
"No..."
"Not the hospital..."
"The children's wing."
May you like
Without another word, Miguel, Elena, and dozens of townspeople raced toward the burning building...
While Alejandro quietly disappeared into the smoke, leaving behind one final trap that would change every life in the valley forever.
