The graduation ceremony was a blur of speeches, applause, and flashing camera bulbs. When the headmaster finally announced, "Will the class of 2026 please turn your tassels," hundreds of caps flew into the air like a flock of dark birds against the azure sky.
The stadium erupted into cheers, air horns, and joyful tears. Noah rushed down the bleakers toward me, tossing his cap onto the grass, and threw his arms around my neck in a crushing hug.
"We did it, Mom!" he shouted over the roar of the crowd.

I didn't open it. I didn't archive it. I simply selected the message, hit delete, and watched it vanish permanently into the digital void.
Noah noticed and looked down at my screen with a questioning eyebrow. "Was that him?"

We walked side by side toward the car, stepping out into the warm summer sunlight, completely free of the ghosts, the lies, and the seating charts of the past.
