Chapter 7 - The Corporate Coup

Before the applause could even die down, the heavy double doors of the ballroom swung open again. This time, it wasn't the headmaster or the catering staff. Three men in tailored charcoal suits walked purposefully toward Table One.
Recognizing them instantly, Nathan’s breath hitched. They were the senior partners of Sterling & Vance Financial, accompanied by a representative from Cole Industries—including Sabrina’s own father, Arthur Cole.
Sabrina dropped her champagne flute, the crystal shattering against the floor with a sharp, violent crack that cut through the music.
"Nathaniel," Arthur Cole said, his voice dropping like an anchor into the hushed silence of the room. "We’ve just received the forensic audit from your wife’s legal team, corroborated by the financial disclosures required in your ongoing custody litigation. You used my daughter’s family trust to siphon unverified capital out of firm accounts while systematically lying about your marital liabilities to the board."
Nathan stammered, looking wildly between Arthur, the senior partners, and me. "Arthur, please—it’s a misunderstanding! Claire is orchestrating a smear campaign, she's vindictive, she—"

"Quiet, you fool," Arthur snapped, his face dark with fury. "You thought you could use my daughter to climb our corporate ladder while destroying your own family, and then drag my company name into your custody fraud? Effective immediately, you are terminated from Sterling & Vance for gross misconduct and financial fraud. Your shares are frozen, and our legal counsel will meet you at your office tomorrow morning."
The ballroom was so quiet you could hear the ice melting in glasses twenty feet away. Nathan stood utterly paralyzed, ruined in both his personal and professional life within thirty seconds flat.
