Chapter 4 - Checkmate in the Boardroom"You think you're clever, don't you?" Julian sneered, blocking my path to the elevator. "Do you really think your mother didn't vet every move you've made for the last two years? She knew you were looking into the car crash. She let you chase ghosts because it kept you manageable."

I stared at him, feeling a cold, calm thrill wash over me. "Did she also let me find the offshore bank accounts tied to Dr. Weston?"
Julian’s smirk vanished instantly. His hand froze mid-motion.
"That's right," I continued, stepping right up to him until our chests almost touched. "My mother is brilliant, Julian, but she taught me one fatal flaw: she thinks everyone else is a pawn. But pawns can cross the board and become queens."

"Ah, Samuel," Daria announced loudly as I walked in. "Right on time. We are just about to vote on the permanent restructuring. If you'll cast your vote for the motion..."
She paused, noticing the absolute stillness in my posture.

"Samuel?" she asked, her voice sharpening with sudden unease. "What is the meaning of this?"
I didn't answer her. Instead, I walked over to the main media console at the front of the room, plugged my encrypted flash drive into the master port, and hit a single key.
