Standing on the grand balcony overlooking the garden, Sophie wore a stunning emerald-green dress that caught the afternoon light. In her hand, she held a glass of sparkling cider.
Martha walked up beside her, offering a warm, motherly smile and handing her a small, neatly wrapped gift box.
"Happy birthday, my dear," Martha said softly. "You look radiant."
