Martha walked slowly into the center of the room, ignoring Vanessa completely. She stopped in front of Detective Thorne and handed the ledger directly to him.

"Officer, I’ve worked in this household for thirty years," Martha said softly, her voice steady and clear. "I’ve seen masters come and go. But I’ve also kept meticulous logs of every single inventory discrepancy, medical supply order, and financial transaction that occurred under this roof."

Vanessa’s face drained of color. "You old hag... mind your own business!"

"It is my business when someone tries to harm the children I watched grow up," Martha retorted sharply, turning her piercing gaze onto Vanessa. "You thought you were so clever deleting the security footage backups, Miss Vanessa. But you forgot about the offline backup system in the basement vault—a system installed by the late Mrs. Vance twenty years ago."

Martha turned to Detective Thorne. "On page four hundred and twelve, you will find proof that Miss Vanessa didn't just tamper with the label at the party. She systematically poisoned Sophie’s daily vitamin supplements over the last three months with slow-acting trace allergens designed to weaken her immune system."

The room fell dead silent. Even Detective Thorne’s eyes widened in shock as he flipped open the ledger.

"That's... that's a complete fabrication! Lies! All lies!" Vanessa shrieked, her voice cracking as she lunged toward Martha to snatch the book.
