Chapter 25 - The Fall of the Iron Crown

The Baroness tried to speak, to negotiate, to threaten, but the words caught in her throat. She looked past Julian, past my sons, and locked her wide, terrified eyes onto mine.

"What do you want?" Wilhelmina finally choked out, the formidable aura completely dismantled.

"I don't want your money, Wilhelmina," I said softly, walking slowly around the table until I stood right beside her chair, looking down with absolute, serene power. "I want your silence. And I want the complete, unconditional dissolution of the Syndicate of the Iron Crown, effective immediately."

"You can't dissolve centuries of—"

"I just did," I interrupted, tapping the screen of Caleb's tablet where the digital signature of the Swiss banking commissioner flashed green, confirming the asset freeze. "You have two hours to sign the dissolution papers and broadcast your retirement from public finance. Otherwise, you spend your remaining years in a federal holding cell answering for historical financial crimes."

Wilhelmina looked at the pen resting beside the contract. Slowly, with shaking, humiliated fingers, she picked it up and scrawled her signature across the dotted line.

As we walked out of Schloss Klingenstein into the crisp Swiss morning air, the sun was just beginning to break over the snow-capped Alpine peaks, painting the sky in brilliant shades of gold and violet.

Liam wrapped a warm arm around my shoulders, smiling warmly. "Well, Mama. That handled nicely."

"Always pack good lawyers and better sons," I laughed, pulling all three of them close as our private jet waited on the runway to take us home.
