As the elevator doors sealed shut, carrying the last vestige of the old Montgomery bloodline away to federal custody, a profound, unbreakable silence settled over the fiftieth-floor penthouse.

Julian Vance Sr. walked over to my desk, laying the finalized transfer deeds of Veritas Holdings flat on the blotter.

"It’s over, Katherine," Julian smiled, his gray eyes warm with admiration. "Veritas is fully integrated. The global assets are secured under the Vance Foundation trust. Not a single old-money ghost remains to haunt this empire."

I turned around and looked at my three sons. Liam, Noah, and Caleb stood side-by-side, their posture tall, their expressions filled with the quiet, unshakable confidence of men who knew who they were and where they came from.
