Chapter 26 - The Homecoming Celebration

Back in Chicago, the defeat of the Syndicate of the Iron Crown marked the final eradication of the old-money ghosts that had haunted our lives for two decades.
The Vance Foundation hosted a massive, open-air jubilee across the city parks and the Lake Geneva estate. Thousands of families, entrepreneurs, and single mothers whom we had empowered over the years gathered to celebrate a new era of freedom and community prosperity.
I stood on the grand balcony of the Lake Geneva mansion—the exact spot where fifteen years ago a glass had shattered, signaling the start of a war. Now, the courtyard below echoed with live music, dancing, and the uninhibited laughter of children.
Julian, Victoria, Caroline, and my three sons stood beside me, raising their glasses in a silent toast to an unbreakable legacy.
"To the queen who built a kingdom," Julian smiled, clinking his crystal flute against mine.
"To the family that proved love and resilience are stronger than any old-money curse," I replied, looking out over the sea of smiling faces.
