Chapter 12 - THE GENEVA INHERITANCEAlejandro strode across the room, carefully taking the heavy parchment envelope from Elena’s trembling hands. He used a letter opener to slice through the wax seal, his dark eyes scanning the single sheet of embossed paper inside.

“To Elena Ruiz and Alejandro Monteverde,” the formal, typed letter began. “If you are reading this, the primary Monteverde-Ruiz merger has stabilized. However, you are unaware of the pre-nuptial biological clause instituted by Viktor Monteverde prior to his demise. Gabriel Ruiz-Monteverde is legally bound to a secondary guardianship trust managed by the Geneva High Council. To secure the child’s absolute immunity from corporate liability, he must be presented before the Council in Switzerland within thirty days, or the entirety of the Ruiz patents will default to an anonymous third party.”
Elena’s eyes widened with horror. "Another trap. Even from the grave, your father is still trying to control us."
"No," Alejandro said, his jaw tightening into a hard line of absolute fury. "This isn't my father. This is the Swiss board—a faction of old-guard investors who backed my father’s early hostile takeovers. They’ve been waiting for a weakness in our bloodline to seize absolute control of the biomedical assets."

"If we don't go to Geneva, we lose everything we fought for," Elena said, stepping closer to him, her fear instantly hardening into fierce maternal resolve. "If we do go, we’re walking straight into a foreign jurisdiction where we don't control the security."
Alejandro reached out, grasping her shoulders firmly, his gaze burning with unyielding devotion. "We go together. Every single guard, every shred of legal firepower we possess, comes with us. No one touches our son. Not a board in Geneva, and not a ghost from the past."
