Chapter 20 - The Forever Home

Three months later, the Moretti estate—now officially renamed Hale Manor—was unrecognizable. The burned ruins of the east wing had been transformed into a modern, sunlit wing housing the headquarters of the global child-protection and family advocacy foundation.

In the center courtyard, surrounded by blooming white roses and towering oak trees, a small, elegant gathering of close friends, federal officials, and foundation beneficiaries had assembled under a canopy of white silk ribbons.

Sophia stood before an antique archway draped in ivy, wearing a breathtaking, simple white silk gown that radiated effortless grace and unbreakable strength.

As the violin strings swelled with a soft, romantic melody, Lorenzo walked down the stone aisle. He looked at Sophia with a gaze so full of adoration and unconditional love that the rest of the world completely melted away. When he reached her, he took her hands in his, his fingers warm and steady.

"When you first walked into my life," Lorenzo whispered softly for only her to hear, "you were supposed to be invisible. Instead, you opened my eyes, saved my home, and gave my life a soul."

Sophia smiled, her eyes sparkling with tears of absolute joy. "And you gave me a voice, Lorenzo. And a home where we will never have to hide again."

The federal judge officiating the ceremony smiled, raising his hand. "By the power vested in me, and before all witnesses here today, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

As Lorenzo pulled Sophia into a deep, passionate, and triumphant embrace, the entire courtyard erupted into cheers and applause. Lily tossed a handful of rose petals into the air, laughing as they drifted down like gentle rain.

The housekeeper who once cleaned up other people's secrets had finally written her own ending—one of absolute light, unbreakable love, and eternal freedom.
