Chapter 28 - The Mastermind Unmasked“Victor Sterling,” I said, walking slowly toward his desk, my voice ringing with cold authority. “Or should I call you by your real name—Victor Bradley, my mother’s estranged business partner and the primary architect of the entire financial syndicate?”

Victor’s smile faded slightly, replaced by a cold, calculating glint in his eyes. He didn't deny it. Instead, he chuckled softly, folding his hands over his desk.
“Teresa always lacked subtlety,” Victor said smoothly. “She was brilliant at micro-managing people, bullying your wife, and bleeding your bank accounts dry. But she didn't have the vision to see the bigger picture. The commercial portfolios, the government contracts, the multi-million-dollar asset transfers—that was all my design.”
“And you used my mother as a pawn, and me as your designated scapegoat,” I said, my fists clenching at my sides.
“Business is structural engineering, Connor,” Victor replied coldly, standing up and buttoning his suit jacket. “You build a foundation, you load the weight onto the most expendable pillar, and when the stress gets too high, you let it collapse while you collect the insurance payout. Unfortunately, your mother’s greed and your stubborn refusal to stay broken ruined the calculations.”
“Your calculations missed one critical variable, Victor,” Elena Vance stepped forward, placing a certified federal indictment document on his desk. “Integrity isn't a variable you can compromise. Federal marshals have already seized every server, asset, and subsidiary account tied to Sterling Global Logistics. You’re finished.”

Victor stared at the document, his expression hardening into mask of pure malice. He reached slowly toward his desk drawer—
Before his fingers could touch the handle, federal agents rushed across the room, pinning his arms behind his back and snapping steel handcuffs around his wrists.
