Chapter 12 - The SubpoenaBack at Stark Global Tower, my mornings no longer started at 4:52 a.m. in a boiling kitchen catering to ungrateful parasites. Instead, they began with panoramic views of the sunrise, a private trainer, and high-level executive briefings with my board of directors.

Arthur slid a thick manila folder across the mahogany boardroom table.
"The liquidators have finished evaluating Julian’s personal items left behind in the estate," Arthur said, watching me closely. "There was one item recovered from his private wall safe that didn't belong to the corporate audit. A ledger. Handwritten."
I raised an eyebrow, opening the folder. Inside was a black leather journal filled with Julian’s neat, compulsive handwriting. But as I flipped through the pages, my breath caught.
It wasn't just a corporate diary. It was a complete documentation of a conspiracy dating back long before our wedding—detailing how Julian and Eleanor had systematically targeted my family’s trust fund, plotting to marry me under a false identity, squeeze out the patents, and then legally discard me once the empire was safely under their control.
"They planned it all from the very beginning," I whispered, the cold realization settling deep into my bones.

"Yes," Arthur nodded grimly. "Which means this isn't just a white-collar fraud case anymore. This elevates Julian’s charges to conspiracy to commit systemic financial predation and perjury. The federal prosecutor wants you to testify in person at the grand jury hearing next week."
I closed the folder, a sharp, fierce resolve hardening in my chest. "Tell the prosecutor I'll be there. Every single detail needs to be brought into the light."
