Chapter 17 - The Final ChoiceThe silence in the grand office stretched on for what felt like an eternity.

Eleanor looked up from the employment contract, her eyes red-rimmed, searching my face for any trace of mercy or compromise. She found only cold, unyielding resolve.

She swallowed hard, her throat bobbing as her ego took its final, fatal blow. Slowly, painfully, she reached into her coat pocket, pulled out a worn plastic pen, and scribbled her signature at the bottom of the page.

"I accept," Eleanor whispered, her voice barely audible over the hum of the HVAC system.

"Report to the executive kitchens at Stark Global Tower tomorrow morning at precisely 4:52 a.m.," I instructed, turning back to face her with a neutral expression. "Don't be late. Punctuality is a virtue you taught me yourself."

Eleanor stood up slowly, her shoulders bowed, and walked toward the private elevator. As the glass doors closed behind her, cutting her off from the glittering penthouse view, I felt a deep, profound sense of closure wash over my soul.

The cycle of abuse, arrogance, and silent suffering was officially broken.
