Chapter 5 - The Confession of the ShadowsAs Arthur spun around to flee the crypt, a shadow detached itself from the darkness near the exit.

It was Clara. She was holding a small, flickering kerosene lantern, illuminating the tears still glistening on her face.
"I told you," she said softly, her voice echoing off the cold stones. "They didn't let her die peacefully, Arthur. Your wealthy in-laws... they found out what Elena was trying to do the night Leo was born."
"What are you talking about?!" Arthur roared, his voice cracking with sheer terror and grief. "Who are you? Really?"
Clara stepped into the light, her fingers reaching up to the back of her neck. With a swift motion, she peeled back a thin, invisible layer of synthetic skin near her jawline—a hyper-realistic silicone mask.
Underneath was a face Arthur recognized instantly from old, faded photographs locked away in Elena's personal diary.
"My name is Sarah," the woman said, her voice shifting into a familiar, melodic cadence that made Arthur’s knees buckle. "I am Elena’s twin sister. The sister your family paid to keep away, to pretend I never existed."
Arthur stared, paralyzed. "Twin... but Elena never told me she had a sister!"
"Because your father-in-law threatened to kill us both if she did," Sarah replied bitterly. "She came to me the night Leo was born, bleeding, terrified, and running for her life. She managed to hide the baby with a trusted nurse before they caught up to her."

"Caught up to her?" Arthur whispered, the horrific puzzle pieces violently slamming together. "Who?"
"Your father-in-law," Sarah said, stepping closer. "And he didn't just take her life, Arthur. He locked her away alive in a medical facility disguised as a psychiatric ward, rewriting her entire existence so he could control the family fortune through little Leo."
