Chapter 14 - The Stolen Birthright
Zachary emerged from the elevator bank, flanked by two towering private security officers. He didn't even look at Andrew; he simply nodded to his men.
Before Andrew could react, one officer grabbed his wrist, twisting it gently until the manila envelope fell to the ground, while the other pinned Andrew against the cold concrete pillar.
"Let go of me! This is assault!" Andrew shrieked.
Zachary picked up the envelope, opened it, glanced at the forged documents, and casually tore them into small pieces, letting them scatter in the wind.
"Andrew," Zachary said, his voice terrifyingly calm. "Did you really think Gemma loved you? Did you really think your mother picked her for you out of affection?"
Andrew blinked through his tears. "What are you talking about?"
Zachary pulled a blue folder from his own jacket. "My private investigators spent the last forty-eight hours digging into your mother's background. Twenty years ago, Samantha’s late father invented a revolutionary surgical mesh patent that generates millions in royalties every year. When he died, he left that trust to Samantha, managed secretly by a blind foundation until her thirty-fifth birthday."
My eyes widened in complete shock. "What? My father's trust?"
"Your thirty-fifth birthday is next month, Samantha," Zachary said, looking at me warmly before turning back to Andrew with disgust. "Brenda found out about that trust three years ago through her banking connections. She purposefully pushed Gemma into your life, arranged for you to meet Samantha, and orchestrated your entire relationship so your family could drain her accounts and take control of that patent trust before she ever learned it existed."

Andrew stood frozen, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. "No... no, my mother told me Sam was just a middle-class doctor..."
"You were a tool, Andrew," I said, stepping up to him, looking straight into his hollow eyes. "Your mother used you. Gemma used you. And you threw away my genuine love for a lie."
