On a bright, warm summer afternoon, the estate’s grand lawn was filled with the joyous laughter of children running across the grass.
Austin, now a bright, energetic nine-year-old with his father’s sharp eyes and his mother’s resilient spirit, was proudly kicking a soccer ball across the lawn toward a makeshift goal near the oak tree.
Inside the bright, sunlit kitchen of the manor, Lianna stood by the counter, pouring two cups of fresh coffee.
Corbin walked up behind her, wrapping his arms around her shoulders and resting his chin softly against her hair.
"You know," Corbin murmured with a quiet smile, "I was looking at the old ledger records in the archive room this morning."
Lianna turned around in his arms, raising an eyebrow playfully. "Oh? And what did you find this time, Mr. CEO?"
"Just a reminder," Corbin replied, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "That the best investment I ever made in my entire life cost exactly twenty-eight dollars."
