That night, back at her Manhattan penthouse, Emily couldn't sleep. The encounter with Julian Vance had planted a seed of unease in her mind. She sat at her home office desk, her laptop glowing in the dark, pulling up the digital archives of the Donovan Foundation.

She began cross-referencing the asset transfers from Ethan's seized accounts with the historical filings of her grandfather's old lumber firm in Queens.

“Harold, if anything happens to me, and my daughter or her children ever find themselves at the mercy of men like Julian Vance’s father, protect them. But more importantly, ensure Emily holds the controlling share of the Queens waterfront property. It’s not just land. It’s the leverage that keeps the entire empire from falling into Julian’s hands.”

Emily stared at the screen. The Queens waterfront property—a massive, multi-billion-dollar commercial redevelopment zone currently managed by Donovan Holdings.
