"Miller, assemble the tactical security detail. Full gear. We're going to the waterfront."
Emily stepped in front of me, her eyes burning with fierce determination. "I'm coming with you."
"No," I said instantly, shaking my head firmly. "It's too dangerous. This isn't a boardroom dispute anymore. This is war."
"And you think leaving me and Zion unprotected back at the mansion while you hunt down a shadow syndicate is safer?" Emily challenged, her voice ringing with absolute authority. "Marcus, they know where we live. If I'm with you, I can watch your back. If I'm miles away, I'm a sitting duck."
She was right. Leaving her behind exposed her to whatever trap they had laid.
"Fine," I relented, handing her a secure encrypted radio handset. "Stay right behind me, and don't move an inch away from Miller."
