Chapter 3 - The Silence of the AmbitiousDaniel froze. The color drained from his face so fast his skin took on a gray, chalky hue. He stared at the document on the wooden stand, his mouth opening slightly before snapping shut.

"I... I don't recall that specific application," Daniel stammered, his voice losing its confident ring. "Loans are handled by our acquisitions department; figures are often projected—"
"Projected figures do not carry a personal affidavit of net worth signed under oath," Clare interrupted smoothly.
"Objection! Badgering the witness," Coleman barked, leaping to his feet, his professional composure cracking for the first time.
"Overruled," Judge Holloway said sharply, her eyes fixed entirely on Daniel. "Answer the question, Mr. Whitmore. Did you submit a statement of net worth to First Meridian Bank listing eleven point six million dollars?"
Daniel swallowed hard, shooting a panicked look at his attorney. "It was... an estimate for expansion purposes."
"An estimate," Clare repeated softly. She pulled out a second document from her folder. "Let’s talk about expansion. Specifically, the four subsidiary LLCs registered in Delaware between January and August of this year: Apex Holdings, Meridian Commercial, Bracken Ridge Ventures, and Oak Street Capital."
Daniel gripped the edges of the witness stand so tightly his knuckles turned white. "What about them?"
"According to state corporate filings, each of these entities was registered using our home address, utilizing a secondary routing number that bypassed internal corporate tax disclosures," Clare stated clearly, lifting a printed bank record. "Furthermore, every single one of these accounts lists a sole secondary beneficiary other than myself or the corporation."

She turned the document toward the bench.
"Your Honor, I submit Exhibit B: certified wire transfer logs proving that over the past nineteen months, Mr. Whitmore systematically funneled three point eight million dollars of corporate revenue into these hidden entities, funding personal real estate and undisclosed third-party accounts."
