Chapter 22 - The Decrypted ThreatThe glowing screen of Victoria’s encrypted laptop cast a sharp blue light across the dark penthouse suite. Outside, the Montana blizzard battered the glass, but inside, the air was entirely frozen by tension.


Marcus stood behind her, staring down at the audio waveform from the anonymous message. "We ran the digital signature through three different dark-web tracking protocols," Marcus said, his voice grim. "The ping didn't come from a burner phone in the US. It originated from a secure satellite relay station in Zurich."
"Zurich," Victoria repeated, narrowing her eyes. "Brandon didn't have international connections sophisticated enough to route through Swiss shell servers while locked inside a supermax prison."
"Which means," Marcus concluded, "someone else was pulling the strings behind the scenes all along. Brandon wasn't just a greedy husband; he was a pawn in a much larger game."

Victoria’s jaw clenched. She stood up, walking toward the floor-to-ceiling window as the snow swirled outside. The fifty-million-dollar insurance payout had always felt too calculated for Brandon's clumsy intellect. Someone had engineered this trap, coaching him every step of the way.
"Find out who owns that Zurich relay node," Victoria ordered coldly. "Even if we have to buy the entire Swiss banking network, I want a name by morning."
