Chapter 5 - The Digital ConfessionThe speakers mounted around the cemetery buzzed to life, broadcasting a crisp, unmistakable recording across the entire crowd.

“Is she dead?” Gretchen’s voice echoed through the damp air.

Then Brandon’s relaxed, cruel laugh filled the graveyard: “For fifty million dollars, she better be.”

Gretchen let out a blood-curdling scream and collapsed onto the wet grass. Brandon lunged forward, desperately trying to smash the display or rip the cables out, but two burly private bodyguards—hired directly by Victoria’s family lawyers—materialized from the crowd, pinning Brandon’s arms behind his back with bone-crushing force.

"You b—!" Brandon roared, thrashing wildly. "You planned this! You set me up!"

"I simply let you run your trap," Victoria replied smoothly, walking closer until she was standing inches from his sweat-stained face. "You signed the insurance beneficiary transfer documents three days before our trip. My legal team has the digital trail. Every email, every offshore account deposit, every text message between you and Gretchen plotting my accidental death."

She leaned in close, her voice dropping to a harsh, venomous whisper meant only for his ears.

Sirens wailed in the distance. Red and blue lights flashed against the iron gates of the cemetery as three police cruisers roared up the drive, officers pouring out with handcuffs ready.
